In 2021, Oscar and Carmela left Long Island and built La Rocca from scratch in NEPA — a family-run pizzeria rooted in faith and real Southern Italian cooking.

A Leap of Faith

During the pandemic, Oscar and Carmela packed up their Long Island lives and moved to Pennsylvania to start from zero — rooted entirely in faith.

Why We Named It La Rocca

La Rocca is Italian for "the rock" — our biblical foundation. Psalms 18:31: "Who is the Rock except our God?"

Real Food, Made From Scratch

La Rocca Pizza & Pasta was founded in 2021 when owners Oscar & Carmela, with the Lords direction, left their home on Long Island, NY and moved to Pennsylvania with their 3 children in the middle of a pandemic. They started from zero, but with their faith firmly planted on the Rock that is Jesus Christ, La Rocca was birthed. We have seen God’s hand at work every single day as He brought us through, as HE always does! It is a privilege serving the community of North Scranton and now their second location in Carbondale PA. We are known for our Always Fresh Home-made Southern Italian Cuisine, NY Style Pizza, Off-site Catering and so much more!
